Aurora, IL
Joe Golab is a chemistry teacher in the Science faculty at the Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy. At IMSA, Joe teaches introductory and advanced chemistry classes and is developing a physical chemistry/ materials science elective for IMSA students. He would really like to talk with people who share an interest in developing senior high school/ undergraduate chemistry curricula for physical and materials science, using computational chemistry software in the classroom, and high performance computing.

Before IMSA, Joe gained thirty years’ experience as an industrial computational scientist by applying advanced modeling and simulation tools to bring projects practical results. While in industry, he was an adjunct Professor of Chemistry in the College of Science at the Illinois Institute of Technology. He is a trustee (and past president) of the Computer Aids for Chemical Engineering Corporation (CACHE). Joe's interests lie on the technical side of science and engineering specifically in applying and developing accurate, quantitative, computational techniques and methods for problems of industrial interest, especially thermochemistry, kinetics, and catalysis. He is a contributing author on over 35 refereed journal articles, several book chapters, a few patents, and one book.
